WiseList and Alydo answer different questions. WiseList tells you what groceries cost on the shelf this week. Alydo reads your receipts and tells you what your household paid. If the second question is the one you have, read on. If it is the first, WiseList is the better app, and this page says so.

You want to know the cheapest store before you leave home
WiseList shows live prices from Coles, Woolworths and ALDI and totals your list at each one. That comparison is free. Alydo cannot do this. It has no shelf prices at all.

How each app pays for itself
WiseList sells the WiseList+ subscription. It also links to switching offers for gas and electricity, broadband, insurance and loans, and says on its site: “WiseList may earn a commission when you switch through these links, at no extra cost to you.”

Where Alydo fits better
You scan every receipt, not two a month
Alydo has no monthly cap on receipt scans. The only limit is a daily one: 20 AI requests per account, resetting at midnight UTC. One scan is one request, so that is up to 20 receipts a day.

Every scanned receipt adds to a price history for the items on it. Alydo shows what each one cost you last time and flags the ones that went up. It works for any shop that hands you a receipt, including Woolworths, Coles, ALDI and most other Australian grocers.

Shared lists are free. So is a household: invite the people you shop with and everyone sees the same receipts, spending totals, lists and monthly budget, with each receipt showing who scanned it.

- Is Alydo a full replacement for WiseList?
- No. WiseList compares live shelf prices at Coles, Woolworths and ALDI, plans meals and tracks bills. Alydo does none of those. Alydo is an alternative for the receipt side: scanning every receipt, seeing what you actually paid over time, and sharing lists and spending with your household for free.
- Are receipt scans really unlimited on Alydo?
- There is no monthly cap and no paid tier. There is a daily fair-use limit of 20 AI requests per account, which resets at midnight UTC. A receipt scan uses one request. Other AI features, such as recipe suggestions, draw on the same 20.
- Does Alydo compare prices between Coles, Woolworths and ALDI?
- Not live. Alydo has no supermarket price feed. It only knows the prices on receipts that have been scanned, so it can tell you what you paid for an item at each store you have shopped at, and nothing about a store you have not.
- Can I use WiseList and Alydo together?
- Yes, and they do not overlap much. WiseList is for before the shop: which store is cheapest this week. Alydo is for after: what the shop really cost, item by item, and how that changes month to month.
